Teens wanting to lose 25 to 35 lbs by Christmas

I'm 13 year old.  My starting weight is 160.  My current weight is 158 and I would like to lose between 25 and 35 pounds by Christmas.  My first goal is 135 and I'm going to decide on my final goal once I get there.  I'm almost 5'5".  I am a cheerleader and dance with a ballet company.

I'm looking for some friends to start a group with weigh-ins on Friday mornings.  This is a chance to talk about what's going on at school, how to eat healthy with bad school food, etc.

Anyone want to join me?

i was looking at my weight log and i realized i really am an emotional eater

i reached my lowest near my birthday but peaked a lot this summer from my depression

i actually am not lookg foward to school--the only thing i can eat there is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and i love peanut butter but it's so bad for you!

yeah, i didn't realize how bad peanut butter was until a couple weeks ago when i looked at the label when i was eating celery and peanut butter! it was so bad :/

so, is anyone else worried about labor day? every year we have a big family reunion at my cousin's house for labor day, and i stay there for a couple days. bad thing is they always eat fast food and stuff. they eat really late too.. i'm so worried about gaining weight. it always happens! last time i went down there in the beginning of summer i did fine because we rode our bikes everywhere, but we won't be able to do that this time :/ i'm just going to stay positive and hope i don't gain!

I am 16 and a senior in high school. I lost 35 pounds two years ago and gained all but about 10 of it back. Since I started school this year, got a job, and lost interest in food, I comfortably fit back into my size 10 jeans that I couldn't button a month ago. On my days off, I try really hard to go for long walks because I really like to. I am boycotting scales, so I am going solely by what clothes I fit back into. I wish the best of luck to everybody!!!!!

well, i'm skipping weigh in this week, due to the fact that i really don't want to know what i weigh, because the past 2 days i was at my cousin's house and i ate HORRIBLY. i used the scale there yesterday, and it said i was 195 (which i really don't believe it true, i don't think it's possible to gain like 7-8 pounds in 2 days) but i don't want to use my normal scale, incase i really did gain a lot...

thing is i didn't eat like real meals except for breakfast. everything else i ate came in small bits like yesterday i had a taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich on -cinnamon raisin- bread for breakfast. the rest of the day i had like a cookie here and there and some chips.. i also drank soda a lot, which i haven't drank in awhile.. darn you coca cola!

I'm going to join you in your goals.

I've begun running in the mornings before school, 1.5 - 2.5 miles so far, not much, but it's a start. I love it, and during this three day weekend I've been itching to run but haven't had the time.

i skipped weigh in this week cause i dont want to weight myself and put myself down :(

last 3 days i havent been counting my calories and i know its been alot

today im starting counting them again and gonna fast for abit :)

I dont kno whow you guys do it, I cant stay home without weighing myself at least once every couple hours. Even if I know i might have gained a bit, i feel worse if i dont weigh myself. If i try not to it just stays on my mind until I finally do it. I wish I can keep myself away from it but ive become a bit obsessed. =[

smokey, i used to be the same exact way. eventually when i found this group and joined i knew i shouldn't weigh myself all the time so i started to limit how much i would. i then became so busy with going out with friends and stuff i forgot about weighing myself, to the point where i didn't care anymore and i knew i didn't want to disappoint myself if the scale said i gained. so, now i just continue to weigh myself on fridays with the group.

everytime you go to weigh yourself, try to get distracted or something. try to take your mind off the scale :]

don't think that's right, since yesterday i was 185.4 :P

i start school on monday! i can't wait, because i found out during gym instead of doing the lame group games you can ask the teach to use the workout room! so i figure i'll be in there 2-3 times a week working out :] plus an after school teen fitness program on wednesdays, and i'm going to join about 3 clubs for school! yay :]

Ah, so, since it's Friday; I weighed myself and I'm at 192.8, which I believe is down one and a half pounds from last week!! =D

I'm so proud of myself!!

But dangit, I'm so sick of eating salad for lunch every freakin' day! Dx

@popgirl: It's normal for your weight to fluctuate by the day. :) Also, you tend to weigh less in the morning than you do at night. :)

I havent weighed myself in about a month (bad, i know) and this is what happens. I'll definitely be more persistent from now on
