Teens wanting to lose 25 to 35 lbs by Christmas

I'm 13 year old.  My starting weight is 160.  My current weight is 158 and I would like to lose between 25 and 35 pounds by Christmas.  My first goal is 135 and I'm going to decide on my final goal once I get there.  I'm almost 5'5".  I am a cheerleader and dance with a ballet company.

I'm looking for some friends to start a group with weigh-ins on Friday mornings.  This is a chance to talk about what's going on at school, how to eat healthy with bad school food, etc.

Anyone want to join me?

So my calorie coach says i am expected to reach my goal by December 26, but i am sure i can reach it by christmas. Does anyone else feel they can reach their final goal by christmas? I am not sure who in this group wants to reach their goal by christmas or who is just trying to lose their first 25 by christmas.

i want to reach my first goal by christmas, which would be losing about 30 pounds. i think i will reach my goal, but just barely. once school starts up and i'm active again i think i'll lose the weight faster. summer is just soo tempting with being lazy and staying up late.

my calorie coach says i should reach my goal of 160 by MARCH 15TH '09. something is way off there- i don't really understand how that calculates, though. it shouldn't take THAT long..

Mine says December 26th too, but I want to reach my goal weight before Christmas. I really think I can do it. My goal is to get down to 125 which means I need to lose 20 lbs, which I think is definitely possible by Christmas. If I stay on track, that is, lol. School starting up makes it easier for me, because I'm busy all the time which means I'm not just sitting around or eating just because I'm bored (which i've stopped doing but it's still tempting sometimes).

When do you start school? I start on Sep 3. I decided to wait to go school shopping till the end of Aug. so i can get maybe a size smaller than i am now. I don't even really know what size i am because i haven't bought jeans in so long since i was a size 5! I still wear those jeans they're just a little tight lol.

i only got a few new school clothes cause i will wait till i lose some more weight

I go back August 19th. I go to a private school so we have to wear uniforms. I had to move the buttons on my skirts from last year cuz they were too small but I'm hoping to be able to move the buttons back soon.

i go back september 16th i think. i'm not going to look for new clothes until around labor day..i did just order a new shirt online though. and i'm hoping i can find some good new pairs of jeans, because lately i've been varying in jean size from 13-15 :/ my whole goal this summer was to fit into a size 11 shorts at hollister, but i know now that that's not gonna happen for awhile :P

Yeah, i just wish school wasn't starting up so soon so i could lose more weight, but i am not gonna push it. I am just fearful that once i start school i will gain all the weight back like i did last year.. But that was different so i don't think its gonna happen. I am just gonna stay active and pack my own food so i don't mess myself up.

wow popgirl512 your so lucky.  I start school on Sept. 2 and I have to go in on August 29th to get my program. I was also kinda wishing I had more time to lose weight before school but i guess not...

A few days back I was shopping for groceries and it took so long because I was constantly comparing the nutritonal info. At one point I thought to myself "god, I wish they'd just put everything in calorie escalating order so I wont even bother looking at half the store". Anyone else had a similar experience?

I ran out of my vege noodles that were 20 cal per 100 grams =[ the only place I can get them is at the chinese supermarket near my house but...i still feel self conscious going into a food store if its not necessary.

I dont remember the last time I was in the 150's. Wow same amount of weight lost in both weeks. 2.4

I lost a pound. It was a good week, but i could of lost a little bit more.

last week: 190.9

this week: 187.3

i'm pretty sure i only lost like one pound, because that seems like a little much for me. also i had like nothing in my stomach because i weigh myself in the morning and i had a small dinner :P

i've been cc for awhile now. but got lazy for many months and never got to lose the weight i wanted.

i'm a social eater and an emotional eater. not good ><

recently broke up with my boyfriend too and it's pretty tough.

which leads me to ask, if you don't mind, anyone else in a relationship?

haven't been studying for my SAT IIs yet, so need to cram.

i'm not in a relationship, never have been... guys don't seem to like me very much :P (i'm also way to shy to talk to a guy). plus, i'm wayyy taller than everyone else in my school. for some reason everyone in my town is very short...except for like 4 or 5 boys xD

I have come to notice that i am a social eater. I don't like it, and sometimes its even my idea to eat something bad! Well currently i am in a relationship.  My boyfriend like me the way i am. So he makes me feel good about that. And i live in Seattle Washington and love it! Its so green which i also love.

I'm a social and emotional eater which is bad. I've been trying to lose weight since January and haven't lost a pound because of it. It's a daily struggle and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever overcome it.

I had a boyfriend but I recently broke up with him. He was an amazing guy and loved me for me but I began to realize that I only liked him as a friend. It's been over a month since we broke up and I'm beginning to wonder if it was the right choice. I live in Kansas City Kansas btw

Do you guys think i can do it? overcome my eating habits? I know you dont even know me but it gets so hard waking up every day thinking i'm going to start over and lose weight and feel better about myself, just to end up overeating at the end of the day and ruining my hard work. i've tried everything i can think of to stop it and nothing seems to work....

bluebird272, off course you can do it! At first I felt the same way, I mean I'd be all hyped up in the mornings but then gradually i'd allow myself to eat stuff I shouldnt. It took a few months to get used to keeping the excitement of losing weight throughout the whole day instead of the first 3 hours after waking up.

Just 2 days ago I HAD to eat out with my friends because one of them was about to go off to navy bootcamp.The place was called Dallas BBQ. Gosh, even the name doesnt sound too healthy does it? Needless to say afterwards, I felt horrible. But the next day...it was BAM! A whole new day to try again.

Don't give up. The first few times its really hard to say no. The next few times you dont even have to think twice.
