Teens wanting to lose 25 to 35 lbs by Christmas

I'm 13 year old.  My starting weight is 160.  My current weight is 158 and I would like to lose between 25 and 35 pounds by Christmas.  My first goal is 135 and I'm going to decide on my final goal once I get there.  I'm almost 5'5".  I am a cheerleader and dance with a ballet company.

I'm looking for some friends to start a group with weigh-ins on Friday mornings.  This is a chance to talk about what's going on at school, how to eat healthy with bad school food, etc.

Anyone want to join me?

I also like to cook. I have a great recipe for vegetable soup if anyone wants it. Also Popgirl if you do like clear soups making stock and broth is fun and rewarding.

 bails_babe: to answer your question I do not like breakfast foods. Well, at least the ones that are healthy. My problem is that I just do not get hungry till about 1.

today was my first day bact to school  i had time forbreakfast but my lunch time is 2 hours later and the food was terrible so i think i will have to start packing my luch. if yall have any good ideas or recipies i can try at home let me know and also patrickryan that vegetable soup good luck only four more days till way ins oh and i need some advice on b day partys cause i have one to go to every week this month and like 2 next month so i need help on what to do since one of those parties is mine bye

Taykaybelle- Once i go back to school i am going to bring lunch also. I recently bought some containers to store foods in for while i am out. As for foods to put in them i like whole wheat pita sandwiches with tuna fish or peanut butter with sugar free apricot preserves, oh my gosh this is such a treat to me! lol Have you ever made oven fried chicken? I use fiber one cereal and corn flakes for the coating. To make the coating stick i use fat free buttermilk. Then you drizzle with olive olive right before stick it in the oven. I find that chicken breast on the bone doesn't dry out compared to boneless chicken breast. You just jave to cook a bit longer. About going to parties, just eat in moderation. Or stick to what you know isn't bad like fruit, veggies and just eat moderation everything else. ONLY HAVE ONE PIECE OF CAKE! lol But that one is pretty obvious.

To everyone else, how is your week going? Are you finding it hard/easy? Are you making healthy choices? Have you ate something you regret? Done something you regret? Did you exercise this week? If so what did you do?

 

I think I'm going to have a problem once school starts. I'm going to be on a team so that means my lunch gets taken out of my schedule. I dont usually eat breakfast (i always wake up late!). I dont think just eating dinner is good for me. Any suggestions?

Well so far this week has been ok.  I did make one unhealthy food choice.  I had a cheese burger. The good thing is that I am now at my property in Washington. I have 20 acres and there is a lot of hand work to do that is helping.  Like falling trees, putting up a fence, and digging a massive fire pit.  The one food thing that I am looking forward to this week is I am going to Anthony’s. A fish restaurant in the Pacific Northwest.  I really like this restaurant so it will be hard to not eat a lot. But at least it is only one meal unlike all of the parties that Taykaybelle is going to.  I do not know about you be being in this group is making healthier choices easier for me but it is only few days in.  I hope that I feel this way all the way till Christmas.

smokeysondrugs  you really should try to eat at least a few times in a day. Try bars, fruit, and other handy foods. You do not have to eat a lot just  a little something. Look at some threads on this site your situation is coved many times over.

bleh...definitley not a good week so far. I tend to binge when I have emotional problems, and there's been a lot of bad stuff going on in my family, thus I've been eating a lot :/ But I've been trying to journal more to get my emotions out in a healthy way, so hopefully that will help. Anyways tomorrow's a new day!

taykaybelle, your birthday is 2 days after mine!! mine's august 28! lol. and about your parties, if you can, try bringing a veggie or fruit tray, so you know there will be something there you can eat. Try to eat as healthfully as you can, but since its a party don't feel bad if you indulge in one or two things, just keep portions small.

that is cool about the birthday and i dont eat alot at partys. alot of the time i dont like all the sugary foods cause they make me sick. bluebird272 i actually go to a therapist for stress issues so i dont stress eat. i also have learned how to relax my brain so i dont get over emotional and stress sweat. oh and thanks for that recipe bails babe

Yay!! I'm so happy! Probably half of its water weight but I'm so proud i said no to that brownie last night, which was so hard since my dad kept pushing for me to eat it.

i haven't been keeping up with exercising lately..i need to figure out a different routine or something for working out. staying up really late at night doesn't help either cuz then i start to binge a little :/ i'll do better this week!

I was 158 this morning (it's sorta fluctuating from 157 to 159), I'm 5'6".

I'd like to be at 125 by the new year, but I'm more interested in getting my waist smaller and my body more toned overall
